About

Welcome to my blog!  I am a recently-married, just-hatched attorney from Seattle, embarking on an adventure around the world with my husband, Will, a lawyer in the Army JAG corps.  Our current dwelling is a little duplex at the foot of the Chugach Mountain range in Anchorage, Alaska.  After having moved from our rental house in Seattle, to my parents’ basement, to a Residence Inn in Virginia, to a high-rise in Dongducheon, South Korea, and finally, as we settle into our new home in this wondrous place, I find myself asking, “Are we home yet?”.

I have the urge to nest.  From the time I was a child, my family has teased me about my constant need to “nest.”  Whether moving throughout our house to create the perfect study space, decorating my college dorm room, furnishing my first apartment, or simply making myself at home in a hotel room, I seek ‘home.’  As we begin our journey as a military family, I am hopeful that this knack for nesting will allow us find home anywhere.

So, why blog?  I have become an avid blog reader – well, a passionate food blog reader anyway.  While I find it strange to open up your life to the entire world, I also think blogs are an ingenious way for people to connect with and learn from one another.  From my daily blog reading, I have explored new food concoctions – peanut butter in my oatmeal! – restaurant reviews, fitness adventures – Bikram yoga – travel tips, political trends, and many many more seemingly mundane things.

I am excited, hesitant, nervous, anxious, and curious about our adventures to come.  I hope this blog will allow Will and me to stay connected to our family and friends from home, and to those new friends we will meet along the way.  This blog will inevitably focus on my life and the things I love most: my family, food, politics, travel, and photography.  Enjoy!

From a soldier stationed in Korea, I just wanted to say it was a nice treat to run across your blog. It is well put together and the topics you pick are great. Culture, food, and adventure are the fabric of ones life; you put them all together nicely. Who knew I would come across this site looking for biking information from Dongducheon to Seoul. It was a nice suprise.

    • Hi Seth, Thanks for your note! I am glad you ran across this blog. While we haven’t explored quite as much of Korea as I’d hoped, I have tried to document some of the more memorable experiences. Have you biked from Dongducheon to Seoul yet? We’ve been wanting to do that for some time! Thanks again for stopping by. Enjoy your time in Korea!
